Pangaea’s sound is hard to categorise and ever-shifting. Whilst house and techno influences are apparent, his music is firmly rooted in the traditions of UK bass music past and present. The same applies to his DJ sets.
Pangaea was inspired to step up his productions after being exposed to the then-emerging sounds of dubstep in 2005. He was involved in Leeds’ first dubstep night ‘Ruffage’ and then formed the Hessle Audio label with Pearson Sound and Ben UFO at the start of 2007, with the aim of releasing original music which wasn’t being represented elsewhere. Over five years later, and with a burgeoning discography containing releases by the likes of Untold, James Blake, Ramadanman and Pangaea himself, the label’s ethos remains the same.
Having released on labels like Hemlock, Hessle Audio and Hotflush; Pangaea’s releases and production skills are of a very high quality and are sure to make an impact on the dancefloor.
Danish darling Beastie Respond WAS one of Denmarks best kept secrets. Expect the unexpected this night as we might see Beastie Respond drawing for classics as well as secret dancefloor weapons that are not in his usual arsenal.
